Mumbai: The grand launch of the “Har Ghar Ramayana” campaign (National Program), organized with the objective of reviving Indian culture, values, and the story of Rama, took place with great reverence and dignity on February 5, 2026, at the Mayor Hall, Juhu Lane, Andheri (West), Mumbai.

With Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancing rapidly, it has led to increased conversations around protection of copyrighted material and personality rights. Now, Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and the film industry at large find itself at crossroads. On February 4, IMPPA shot a letter to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), opposing its subsidiary Generative Artificial Intelligence and Copyright Committee’s proposal of Hybrid Copyright Licensing Framework for AI Training.

According to the proposal, AI developers – comprising individuals and corporate entities – would use “lawfully accessed copyrighted content for AI training as a matter of right” and the original copyright holders would get “fair compensation”. The “flat” compensation rate would be decided by the government-appointed committee, Copyright Royalties Collective for AI Training (CRCAT). Also, the compensation will be given not at the training stage, but only when the AI developer generates revenue from its content. The paper was published on December 8 by the DPIIT, which sought feedback from various fields.

In its letter to DPIIT, a copy of which is in  possession, IMPPA asserted that there is “widespread concern within the film, music, and entertainment industry” regarding the framework’s far-reaching consequences. The body, which includes producers Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, and many others, shot down the proposal that opens the floodgates to use copyrighted material.

Talking to Abhay Sinha, President, IMPPA, said that if implemented, it will adversely affect Indian film producers. “The government will take all decisions on its own. They will take our films, but we don’t know whether they will give us [adequate] money for it. We make films worth ‘100 crore! The film industry will incur huge losses. All our producers are in disagreement with what the government wants to introduce.”

Anil Nagrath, Secretary, IMPPA, revealed that the body sent its first letter on January 2, questioning why nobody was included in the committee and seeking an extension of the deadline. He said that most bodies are fundamentally opposed to the plan, adding, “How can you allow anybody to modify my content on a blanket permission, and pay me [any sum] you want? Suppose [somebody] makes a modified film on Dhurandhar [2025], and sells it to anybody they want. This will destroy the Indian film industry!”

Nagrath added that small films will be even worse hit with this move. He added that IMPPA has alerted producer bodies across the country. “We have sent [our] letter to the film producers bodies in the various cities of India. Indian Broadcasters Association and Producers Guild have also written letters to the DPIIT, opposing the proposal.”

AI developers, including individuals and corporate entities registered with Copyright Royalties Collective for AI Training (CRCAT), will use “lawfully accessed copyrighted content for AI training as a matter of right”. The original copyright holders will get “fair compensation”, which will be a “flat” rate decided by the CRCAT.

More than 35 bodies come under the purview of the proposed policy. It includes music bodies such as Indian Performing Rights Society (IPRS) and Indian Singers and Musicians Rights Association (ISAMRA), film bodies such as Producers Guild of India, and bodies in the publishing sector like Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP) and Association of Publishers in India.

In its February 4 letter, Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) opposed the proposal. It said that the approach is a “serious encroachment upon established rights and a direct threat to the long-term stability and viability of the creative sector.”

The Born To Shine scholarship program was launched on the 10th May, 2022, and the registration window closed on the 5th July, 2022. The scholarship program was open only for girl child prodigies above the age of 5 and under the age of 15. The mission of the scholarship program was to nurture girl child prodigies and empower them to pursue their talents. The scholarship program received more than 5,000 eligible applications across the country and the shortlisted candidates were auditioned in 8 cities.
Punit Goenka, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Zarina Screwvala (Managing Trustee & Director, Swades Foundation); Dr. Bindu Subramaniam (Co-Founder & CEO, Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts); Samara Mahindra (Founder & CEO, CARER); and Rupak Mehta (Founder, Brahmnaad Cultural Society) graced the panel and were spellbound by the impeccable talent on show. The prodigies were individually felicitated by the jury members.

Programs like these which encourage the youth are imperative to give the fine arts system the importance it deserves. Additionally, it’s essential to help stay connected with our roots and take pride in doing so.”

Born To Shine Announces Its 30 Prodigy Winners

Children are the joy of today and the hope of the tomorrow. Every year on children’s day, various organizations come up with events for kids and organize fun, food and games. However, this year was a little different. Mumbai city saw a unique children’s day event that was a lot more than food and games.

The event celebrated children and worked toward good health of those who keep them safe.

The amazing event was organized at the Worli police ground and Shri. Vishwas Nangare Patil, Mumbai Joint commissioner of police was the chief guest at the event. He was felicitated for his unending dedication towards the safety of Mumbai citizens. The ladies in the Mumbai police force were also thanked for their efforts to ensure that children stay safe. The trust offered them the gift of good health by organizing breast checkup camp in a part of the event area. 200 female police officials underwent the screening and also received counselling about handling breast cancer doubts.

The event was attended by several celebrities and was a grand success. Apart from honoring police force and conducting health checkups, the event also had numerous swings for kids and a food court service delicious yet healthy food.

The children included little ones from all walks of life. Children of police officers, children struggling with cancer, cancer survivors, and children irrespective of their economic status became a part of the event. The success of the event was evident from the smiles of all children and their attendees. “It is these smiles that we strive for”, said Ms. Nidarshana Gowani humbly.

Kumar was the man behind the success of three-day litfest `Literaria 2021’ in Kolkata which was attended by over 50 literary heavyweights from across the country. Once again, Sri Yatish Kumar has taken up the cudgels to ensure that the event creates an ambiance for India’s established and upcoming Hindi and regional litterateurs to present their latest literary endeavours at the three-day litfest under the aegis of Nilambar –  a Kolkata-based prestigious literary organization. “In recent years the Hindi literary scene has been very buoyant with young poets and authors coming up from various regions and small towns of India. There is a new Hindi literary eco-system in the making,” said Yatish Kumar, who is actively associated with various literary-social organizations.

Yatish Kumar has made a special creative presence in the literary world in the last few years. His poetic reviews on popular novels, stories and travelogues have particularly attracted the attention of readers. His poems and memoirs have been published in most of the reputed magazines.

A hardcore professional with a poetic heart, Yatish Kumar has also been the youngest officer to be appointed Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of any Public Sector Undertaking in India. Born 21 August 1976 (Munger, Bihar), Yatish Kumar has developed his own distinctive style in  poetry, literary work and travelogues. A 1996 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer, Sri Yatish Kumar is a National Award recipient in 2006 for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Railway Service.

Sri Kumar’s book “Antas Ki Khurchan” compilation of poems has received rave reviews and lauded in the literary circles for its fresh approach and newness. Sri Yatish Kumar is the President of the Kolata-based prestigious literary organization ‘Nilambar’. For the past 20 years he has been espousing the cause of Kolkata. Sri Yatish Kumar’s poems and memoirs have been extensively published in leading newspapers and magazines. He also has a creative presence on popular literary blogs like Hindavi, Samalochan, Janki Pul, Pehli Bar and Kavita Kosh.

Apart from the National and five Zonal Railway Awards, Yatish Kumar has received “Outstanding Global Leadership Award-2019” from the Institute of Economic Studies; “CEO with HR Orientation” award by World HRD Congress and “CMD Leadership Award” in Governance and the 8^th PSU Award in 2021.

Yatish Kumar has always been at the forefront in supporting various social upliftment programs. He has been instrumental in creating cultural capital by promoting Hindi literature across the country and also launched various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to help create infrastructure and capacity building.

This Children’s Day, Karan Gupta Education Foundation and Make A Wish Foundation, supported by Make Earth Green Again MEGA Foundation and Sion Hospital Pediatric ward, helped grant the wishes of 201 critically and terminally ill children at the Sion Hospital Auditorium.

It was a beautiful moment when each child looked back at life with renewed energy when their wish was granted.

From television sets to scooters to jeeps to tabs and mobile phones and doll and kitchen sets, the children expressed their wishes to turn doctors to engineers with radiating smiles that lit up the  Auditorium.

Besides Karan Gupta and Deepak S Bhatia, actors Boman Irani and Sangram Singh motivated the children with their  beautiful words and smiles.

Boman’s jaadu ki jhappi made a huge difference as did Sangram Singh’s simplicity.

The motive was simple. To transform the lives and fulfill the wishes and be entertained by a clown, a magician and sing and dance.

Besides Boman Irani, Sangram Singh, Dr. Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, Riddhi Modi, Kalpana Loonkar and Nitish Shah were present alongside Karan Gupta and Deepak S Bhatia.

Boman Irani felt that his wish was granted by being here. “My wish is granted today ” he said.

“Medicines are there. And then there is hope. Doctors believe that once the wish is granted, the hopes of the children double. This gift is much more than just a cycle or a game. It is much more bigger than that. It is hope that the treatment will work,” he said emotionally. “I feel like a child everytime I am on stage. And children are much wiser than us. We should all bring out the child in us,” he said.

Added Sangram Singh, “There are four ways to be strong. Eat less than what you desire, drink double the water than food, exercise the best you can and laugh four times.” The eager audience made the Commonwealth gold medallist wrestler repeat the formula twice.

“Every year more and more children miraculously recover from life threatening illnessess just by having their simple wishes granted. God bless them and let’s pledge to transform one life at a time. Deep gratitude to our donors for supporting this cause,” avered Karan Gupta who has been fulfilling wishes  for the last three years.

लखनऊ में शाहरुख फैन फोर्स के प्रेसिडेंट विशाल सिंह उर्फ विशाहरुख  ने आज शाहरुख खान के जन्मदिन के अवसर पर सभी फैंस की तरफ से अनोखे तरीके से जन्मदिन मनाया । सबसे पहले सहारा स्टेट स्थित जयति भारतम् दिव्यांगजन संस्था में जाकर  विशाहरुख  ने अपनी पत्नी रुचि खान बेटी सिमरन और बेटे आर्यन के साथ केक काटकर तकरीबन 30 दिव्यांगजनों के बीच खाने-पीने की सामग्री वितरित कर जन्मदिन मनाया। उसके बाद मूकबधिर बच्चों के स्कूल जाकर शिखा सिंह के साथ केक सभी बच्चों से कटवाकर मनाया l सब बच्चों को  गिफ्ट देकर शाहरुख खान का जन्मदिवस बेहद खास तरह से मनाया और सभी दिव्यांगजनो और मूकबधिर बच्चों और स्टाफ ने शाहरुख खान की लंबी आयु के लिए प्रार्थना की ।

Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation started the campaign of giving playback singing opportunity to new singers of the country and abroad through online medium during the Karona period.

Ten new singers Vasudha Pandya from Vadodara Gujarat, Masum Raza from West Bengal, Manju Sinha from Puna Maharashtra, Dipa Sarai, Sambhal, from Sajrul Islam and Tahir Khan from Morabad UP, Taruna Shukla from Madhya Pradesh, . From Calcutta Jayanta Bhattacharya, Farha Zeba from Hyderabad, Prem Paul from Punjab and Amina Shirgaonkar from Uttan Mumbai, these 10 new talented singers were given a chance to playback singing in the Ghazal album Tinka Tinka. Lyrics of Ghazal is written by well known poets Sudarshan Fakir, Nafis Alam, Anjan Sagari, Ashfaque Khopekar, Mumtaz Rashid and Hastimal Hasti. Music composed by Pankaj Udas fame Music director Aligani. Recording of Ghazals by Sound Recordist Arvind ji at AB Studio, Mumbai and  at Future of Music at Singers home town Noida City Biswajit at Lets Mix studios, Laxvil dubbing and recording studio in Hyderabad and Studio of Punjab all Ghazals were recorded.

The mixing is done by eminent sound engineer Biju Nair in Mumbai.

It was released on worldwide digital platforms by Afreen Music Company on 2nd November 2022. PRO Punit Khare, Lucky wonder web world took over the responsibility of album publicity and production executive is Anjum Bilal Khopekar.

While trying playback, these singers secured this opportunity on the strength of their ability through the Starmaker app.

Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation’s team selected eligible singers at Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Party Room created in Star Maker app and they were given a free chance to playback singing of  Ghazal album Tinka Tinka at their’s own city’s recording studio all expenses is born by foundation.This sequence was started using the time of lockdown.

Some more singers had been selected, they will now be given a chance. New artists will also get a chance in the video of this album. Keeping in view the difficulties faced by the talented artists while struggling, Ashfaque Khopekar, President, Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation and his team have taken a great step by choosing the online medium. Continuing this series even further, work is being done for more artists. Singers and artists of this album will be honored by Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award.

Due to Corona,  Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award could not be held for 3 years which will be announced soon.

 

 

 

Grand Release Of Ghazal Album Tinka Tinka

Noida: The most prestigious Suraj Parkash Marwah Sahitya Ratan Awards were presented to the popular and prominent writers of the country in a grand function at Marwah Studios in the annual  third edition on the first day of 8th Global Literary Festival Noida 2022 at Noida Film City.

“Feelings and Thinking of a man drive his activities and the quality of work. Think good feel good so that you can act good and convert this earth into heaven,” said Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University and President of the festival congratulating the awardees present in the auditorium from different parts of the country. He also narrated in short the struggle of Suraj Parkash Marwah during partition days.

On this occasion veteran poet and author Savita Chaddha, talked about the value of relationships in life.  Addressing the gathering renowned writer Dr. Divik Ramesh stated that a student is an integral part of teacher’s life and a teacher is nothing without students.. Senior Politician from BJP Anand Sahu laid stress on the significance of Language, its value and stated that without language there’s no art & culture.

“Winning an award is always a special moment. The greatest award is the appreciation of the people. Man gives you the award but God gives you the reward. An award recognizing your talent is an honour,” said Dr Marwah while announcing the names at the Suraj Parkash Marwah Award Ceremony covering nine renowned authors/poets who were felicitated with the Suraj Parkash Marwah Sahitya Ratan Award and certificate of honour including Dr. V. L. Gaur, Sanskrit and Hindi poet, Dr. Bhuvan Lall author and film maker,  Alka Sinha poetess, Prof. Dr. Shalini Verma Author, Dr. Roopa Singh author,  Dr. Sunita author, Urvashi Agrawal ‘Urvi’ Poetess, Pawan Kumar Poet and Dr Sanjay Inamdar Poet & Novelist.

All the awardees spoke their heart out in the most dignified manner. The event was conducted by Sushil Bharti. एक्टर, डायरेक्टर इमरान हसनी ने कहा कि इस फ़िल्म का कॉन्सेप्ट काफी अलग है। किसी की ज़िंदगी मे आइ हाई टाइड की कहानी इस फ़िल्म में पेश की गई है। चूंकि सस्पेंस थ्रिलर सिनेमा है इसलिए मैं कहानी रिवील नहीं कर सकता मगर यह इंगेजिंग फ़िल्म  है। उत्तरप्रदेश के फूलपुर, प्रयागराज, प्रतापपुर और मिर्जापुर में इसकी शूटिंग की गई है।

कॉस्ट्यूम डिज़ाइनर ज़ेबीना हसनी ने बताया कि इस फ़िल्म के लिए कॉस्ट्यूम डिज़ाइन करना काफी चुनौती भरा रहा क्योंकि इसका सब्जेक्ट डार्क है। इमरान हसनी का किरदार और उनका लुक भी काफी डिफरेंट है।

फ़िल्म इसी माह के अंत में सिनेमाघरों में रिलीज़ की जाएगी।

Once upon a time, there was a young boy with stars in his eyes and fire in his soul. He was to be Yash Raj’s English wedding film director.

The wedding was cancelled when YRF faced several flops back to back in those days and Florida boy Soman Chainani turned to books to tell his tales. “Writing is the best expression. Everyone has his or her own story and the best way to start writing is to start writing your own story,” Said J.J. Singh former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Chief of the Army Staff.

“Promotion of literature means promotion of humankind, our traditions, our customs, our way of life. You may be writing a book, but fact is you are also writing history for the next generation,” said Acharya Lokesh Muni.
